During the lifecycle of SWF technology many useful tools were developed both by Adobe and 3rd party developers. We will list some of the most import tools and applications for ActionScript and Flash users and developers.

• Adoble Flash Professional is a most comprehensive Flash technology design and development tool available.
• Flash Player 32. This web page includes downloads for recent versions of Adobe Flash Player for all available platforms including Windows, Mac OS and Linux. It also includes Adobe Flash Player plugin for Chrome, FireFox, Opera, Chromium and Internet Explorer.
• SWF Investigator is a cross-platfor SWF investigation and analysis tool which allows to perform both static and dynamic analysis of SWF applications. You can use it to perform security and quality monitoring research on the SWF applications. You can both inspect binary image of the SWF file and interact with a running SWF file. • Squiggly is a spell checking library for Flash from Adobe. It works on any IDE which supports ActionScript.
• Visual Size Report is an extension of Adobe Flash Professional software to optimize size of SWF files in order to reduce download footprint of an SWF application.
• Adobe AIR is a comprehensive ActionScript and Flash development platform from Adobe.
